Retention specialists communicate with customers, members, and employees to increase loyalty and retain their business or service. This title can encompass several different roles, since customer retention specialists tend to have different responsibilities, goals, and techniques than employee retention specialists. However, both positions require a similar skill set: Retention specialists should be effective at both conflict resolution and problem-solving.
